How does an air card work?

Bookmark and Share
People keep asking me how my aircard works. Find out which cell phone provider has the best 3G signal in your area. Then, for about $60 a month you can use the aircard as a cell phone for your computer.

Here's the answer :
An air card allows you to connect to the internet via a cellular broadband service. That is, your card and service will usually be provided through a mobile phone company, which will act as your ISP.
Per month fees are currently in the range of $60-$70 with a two-year contract and include unlimited access.
You will receive internet service as long as you are within the company's service range. This may cover a broad area if the company also has service agreements with other companies outside it's service range.

What do you mean a cell phone for my computer? That's how an aircard works. It lets your laptop or desktop connect to the internet through cell phone towers.
